Izzy Caffarelli

Izzy Caffarelli is a supportive STEM tutor with an extensive background in math and physics. She focuses on advising students with helpful study strategies and encourages active learning to help students achieve their academic goals. With a background in applied mathematics and astrophysics and an education at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU), Izzy specializes in high school and college-level math courses, up to and including Differential Equations.

At WashU, she worked as a drop-in mentor for Intro Physics I at the university’s learning center and is currently conducting research on training neural networks to detect behavioral changes in black hole binary systems. Over the past summer, she worked on a research project at Argonne National Laboratory focused on the analysis of cosmic microwave background (CMB) observations. Izzy is also an alumna of the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools.
